PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Capacity Building Programs:

In 2017, GILS made a proposal to the office of the Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Political Affairs to organize a leadership capacity building program for Support Groups who campaigned for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as part of our political, civic/policy education and enlightenment program of the organization. The program was tagged “National Symposium/Workshop for the leaderships of Buhari/Osinbajo Support Groups”. The Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs transmitted a letter of acceptance, endorsement and support for the proposed program to us. In the course of this, the umbrella body of the Support Groups, the coalition of APC Support Groups (CASG) formally endorsed the capacity building program, so also did the ruling Party, APC.

SUMMITS & CONFERENCES

African Security Leadership Summits & Awards

In 2018, GILS developed a concept to convoke a Summit to deliberate and interrogate the issues of insecurity affecting Africa, with an anticipated outcome of recommendations for solution to the problems of insecurity in many parts of Africa. This is responsible for retarded growth and development in the continent.
In the course of the consultations, the leadership of GILS had gotten the buy-in of the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Force of Nigeria. On the 10th of September, 2019, former Pres. Muhammadu Buhari GCFR granted GILS a presidential audience at the State House. Also, Service Chiefs of the Nigerian Military, and other heads of Security agencies in Nigeria have shown keen interest in the Summit.
We have also been in consultation with Embassies and High Commissions of African Missions in Nigeria on the subject Summit.
This Summit which is an annual event shall also see the Awards and Recognition of some Heads of Government in Africa, Heads of Security Agencies, other Security personnel, and also those maimed on the lines of duty in defence of country and even those who paid the supreme price. These will be honoured with Post humous Awards.

RECOGNITIONS, AWARDS & HONOURS

As we strive to engage in the general discourse and promotion of leadership ethics which translates into good governance, we also know that our societies particularly in Africa and other less developed countries of the world pay less attention to the issue of rewards. Lack of rewards is known to be a consequence of low morale and productivity.
Research has shown that rewards boost morale and enhance productivity.  Hence GILS enshrines Recognitions, Honours and Awards as Parts of its objectives.
This is why we blend both intellectual content which is the leadership programs with the awards which makes for the boosting of the morale of honorees and recipients to do more for the betterment of society and mankind.
Global Initiative For Leadership Success is registered in Nigeria under the Part “C” of the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Non Profit, Non-Governmental, Non Partisan and Non Religious Organization.
