The President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Leadership Conference
Is an annual event honoring the late Nigerian president’s legacy of integrity and ethical governance. In its inaugural edition held in Abuja in May 2024, the conference focused on the theme “Moral and Ethical Leadership – Antidote to National Development.” Notable figures, including former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, emphasized the importance of emulating Yar’Adua’s leadership qualities to foster national progress. The conference serves as a platform for promoting ethical leadership and sustainable development in Nigeria.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the conference has since grown into a key annual gathering for policymakers, scholars, civil society leaders, and young professionals committed to upholding integrity in governance. Each year, the event spotlights pressing national issues through the lens of ethical leadership, fostering dialogue on transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.
The 2025 edition is set to expand its impact by incorporating panel discussions, capacity-building workshops, and mentorship sessions for emerging leaders. With an emphasis on youth engagement, the conference aims to inspire the next generation to adopt the values of honesty, selflessness, and patriotism exemplified by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
